Working Together to Improve Educator Effectiveness and Student Success
We know effective educators matter. Great teachers and school leaders have a significant impact on student academic performance. That’s why schools must strive to recruit, develop, recognize, and retain high-quality educators.
Through the Ohio Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) project, participating districts are working hard to advance the effectiveness of every educator and improve student learning.
Funded by a five-year U.S. Department of Education grant from 2010−2015, Ohio TIF is a collaboration of 23 school districts, the Ohio Department of Education, and not-for-profit partner Battelle for Kids.
Ohio TIF supports improved teaching and learning in every classroom and for every student by:
- Providing targeted professional development and supports to help all teachers grow
- Recognizing and rewarding teachers and leaders for contributions to student growth and achievement, growing in their practice, and taking on leadership roles
- Helping educators connect, collaborate, learn, and share best practices across districts
- Providing incentives for teachers to earn dual enrollment licensure and offer college credit to high school students
Together—with support from parents, families and community members—Ohio TIF educators strive to help all students graduate prepared for success in college, in careers, and in life.
