Value-added
Note: Student Performance was designed with value-added student growth measures as a component of the system. Value-added measures are not currently in use. Value-added was used in the district from 2006-2017, and used in teachers’ appraisals from 2013-2015.
Value-added growth measures the extent to which students’ average growth meets, exceeds, or falls short of average growth. Value-added analysis assesses student growth by identifying the difference between a student’s expected level of growth based on past performance, and his or her actual level of growth, thus taking into account students’ differing Levels of Preparedness.
