Student Progress on District-Wide or Pre-Approved Assessments/Performance Tasks

This Student Progress measure uses commercially produced or district-created summative assessments or performance tasks to determine content and skill mastery over the duration of a course based on Levels of Preparedness determined at the start of the course. The substantive difference between Student Progress on Pre-Approved Assessments and Performance Tasks is the type of summative assessment tool used. A Performance Task is a culminating project or performance that may be more appropriate than, or used in conjunction with, a traditional paper-pencil test.

Student Progress on Appraiser-Approved Assessments/Performance Tasks

This Student Progress measure uses teacher-created, developed or compiled summative assessments or performance tasks to determine content and skill mastery over the duration of a course based on Levels of Preparedness determined at the start of the course. The substantive difference between Student Progress on Pre-Approved or Appraiser-Approved Assessments and Performance tasks is the type of summative assessment tool used. On Performance Tasks in subjects such as art, music, or foreign language, a culminating project or performance task may be more appropriate than, or used in conjunction with, a traditional paper-pencil test.
