The Teacher Appraisal and Development System

The Teacher Appraisal and Development System is HISD’s formal appraisal tool for teachers. Together, teachers and campus-based appraisers, partner to engage in the district's comprehensive, evaluative tool designed to give teachers a clear and concise picture of their current teaching practices and prescribe effective practices strategies to ensure excellence in teaching and learning for all students.

Note: All teachers in HISD must complete the board-mandated Teacher Appraisal and Development System (TADS) training by their 15th instructional day with our the district. TADS training is offered through New Employee Orientation throughout the school year. New teachers will be assigned a New Employee Orientation date by their HR Assistant.
