A Process to Improve the Quality of CCSD Data Systems and Student Growth Measures
In 2016, for the third year, educators in 11 schools will participate in the roster verification process to confirm which students were taught by which teacher(s) for a particular subject. This process captures the instructional attribution between teachers and students for English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies in grades 4‒8 as well as Special Education (SPED), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and Gifted and Talented.
Roster verification allows CCSD to:
- Improve data quality for value-added analysis
- Identify instructional responsibility
- Build accurate data systems without placing excessive burdens on teachers and principals
- Increase effectiveness as a system
