  • The OAC received a shout out from Secretary Arne Duncan!
    Arne Duncan, U.S. Secretary of Education, mentioned the fine work that OAC and TIF have accomplished during his testimony to the house appropriations committee on Capitol Hill. See for yourself, he mentions OAC at about the 13 minute mark of this video

  • Join OAC Twitter Chats Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
    This week's OAC Twitter chat focused on teamwork and collaboration and was hosted by Bobby Dodd (@NLHSprincipal). More than 20 educators participated, including some educators from Kentucky. You can find an archive of this week's chat on the Collaboration Space here.

    These chats will happen every week on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. Join us next week to chat about assessments! Just log into Twitter at the time of the chat, search the hashtag

  • Learn more about the OAC Professional Practice Badges!
    Want to hear more about the value of professional practice badges? Check out the new blog post from Julie Vujevich. Over a dozen OAC educators have earned the Share and Tweet Badges, with lots more working through the badge tasks. We're already looking ahead to the 2014-15 school year with badges designed to build capacity in specific content areas like Common Core, project-based learning, and much more!

    This Spring OAC Straight A districts and Battelle for Kids are piloting the Student Experience Survey. If you missed the second webinar on April 2, it was focused on the "how" and the logistics of administering the survey. Check out the supporting resources available for your district in this webinar.

  • ODE Announced RttT Extension
    ODE announced that Ohio has been approved by USDOE for an extension of RttT funds into the 2014-2015 school year. More information about this announcement can be found on ODE's RttT website. RttT districts are asked to indicate if you plan to participate in the extension by Wed., April 16, 2014 through the Intent to Participate form.
