It takes teamwork to make the dream work

OAC Weekly Snapshot, December 16 - 20

by User Not Found | Dec 20, 2013

Time flies when you're having fun—holiday break is already here! This will be our last weekly snapshot of the year, but before we go we'd like to take a moment to thank all OAC/TIF educators. Your hard work, determination, and dedication is inspiring and leads to many great opportunities for student success. Relax, recharge and enjoy this time with your family and friends. We have lots to look forward to and accomplish in 2014.

Here are some highlights from this week:

  • Straight A Grant Celebration

Today was an exciting day for the 27 districts in the OAC Personalized Learning Network Straight A grant, as a celebration of the grant was held at West Muskingum High School. During this celebration, State Superintendent Dr. Richard A. Ross congratulated the OACPLN for being awarded a Straight A grant and presented us with a banner of recognition. Superintendent Bill Harbron, West Muskingum; Superintendent Tom Perkins, Northern Local; and Jim Mahoney, Executive Director at Battelle for Kids, also spoke at the event. We appreciate all of the OACPLN superintendents and district representatives who took time out of their busy day to attend the event, along with higher education and ESC partners, legislative representatives, and members of the media. Look for updates about Straight A news coverage on the Impact and News page on the OAC section of the Ohio Portal.
  • Opportunity for English Teacher Dual Enrollment Credentialing – Through a partnership between the OAC and Ohio Dominican University (ODU), OAC English teachers in grades 7-12 have the opportunity to earn their master's degree in English through a flexible, blended learning program in 18 months. For more information, contact Pam Noeth at or visit ODU's website. Stay tuned for more news in January about dual enrollment certification opportunities!
