Here's what we've been up to this week:

Highlights

  • Principals Collaborative – On October 10, OAC/TIF principals kicked off the 2013 OAC Principals Collaborative. Designed by and for OAC/TIF principals, this day consisted of a series of learning and collaborative sessions focusing on Ohio testing, student growth measures and value-added data, and communication and collaboration tools. Big thanks to all who attended! Don't forget there's a Principals Collaborative discussion on the Collaboration Space, where we'll be posting presentation materials and you can continue the great discussions from the day. We gained a few more Twitter followers from the day, so you can also continue the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #OACLead.
  • Connected Educator Month – In celebration of Connected Educator Month, we are recognizing a few of our OAC educators who are using digital and social media to build relationships, share knowledge, and enhance their own professional learning. This week's Connected Educator Spotlight features Krissy Machamer (@kmachamer), Media Specialist at Maysville Elementary School. Learn more about her experiences and advice to others in this blog post.
  • Rural Education National Forum, October 31–November 1 – Are you registered for the Rural Education National Forum? We strongly encourage all OAC districts to attend. The Forum is designed to highlight powerful instruction and leadership practices in rural districts, focus strategic conversations around rural opportunities and challenges with national and local experts, and build a network for collaboration among education, community, and business leaders. U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will be speaking at the event, along with a great lineup of keynote speakers. For more information and to register, click here. Join the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #RuralEdForum.
