Well, that was a hot week! Hope you were able to stay cool. Here's a summary for the week:


  • OAC Districts Join Forces to Generate Resources - Back in May, Coshocton City School District and River View Local School District were awarded Early Literacy and Reading Readiness Grants from the Ohio Department of Education. Click here to read the news release from ODE announcing the winners, and here’s a great article that ran this week about the work in The Coshocton Tribune. Big congrats and thanks to Coshocton, River View and the other districts for working together to make sure all students excel in reading!
  • Building Bridges to Careers - Marietta City Schools is partnering with local businesses through the Building Bridges to Careers to connect the working world with education, helping to prepare students for success in careers and keep them interested in staying in the region after high school and college. Learn more here. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as this initiative continues to grow and expand. Nice job, Marietta!

  • CLP Retreat - We’ll see you all August 1-2 at Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark!
  • TIF Coordinator Kick-Off Meeting - TIF Coordinators, Superintendents, Union Reps, and Treasurers will meet at Battelle for Kids for the Year 4 kick-off meeting on Aug. 7.
  • Leading and Learning Collaborative - The first LLC workshop of the year will take place September 18. We’ll be sharing more information about this event in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
  • National Rural Education Forum - Battelle for Kids and the Ohio Department of Education are hosting the National Rural Education Forum in Columbus, Ohio Oct. 31–Nov. 1. Find more information here.
