It takes teamwork to make the dream work

Who said summers are for relaxing?

Happy SummerSo far this summer, we’ve been busy finalizing and launching a series of digital and social media communication and collaboration channels to provide all OAC members ways to continue to connect with, share and learn from each other in a way that works best for them. Do these tools replace our existing workshops, events and meetings? No way! Will these channels help support, extend and enhance the great work of the OAC? Absolutely!

Wondering what these channels are?
Here’s a hint – you are using one right now! This is what we’ve been working on:

  • OAC Blog – We’ll use our blog to highlight best practices within the OAC and demonstrate educational expertise within the region. Big thanks to Faith Ecker from Georgetown Exempted Village Schools for creating our tagline “It takes teamwork to make the dream work.”
  • Collaboration Space – Our Collaboration Space is a private space accessible to OAC members only. Here, OAC educators can connect and engage with each other in order to build trusted professional relationships and increase knowledge and effectiveness. We’re still working out the kinks on this, but feel free to click around and share any feedback you have. You will use the same password you use to access the Ohio Portal.
  • OAC on the Ohio Portal – We refreshed the OAC section of the Ohio Portal and are pretty proud of it. Here you can find and share information about the OAC with others in your districts, as well as parents and community members. Take a look!
  • Twitter – Have a Twitter account? Follow us at @OHAppCollab. We’ll use Twitter to help build awareness of the OAC across the region and country and to share resources and learn from each other. Don’t have an account? Don’t worry! We can help you set one up and get you up to speed on the ins and outs of Twitter.

You should also take a look at this infographic. It provides more details about our channels and how you can use them.

What’s next?
Well, it is summer – you should relax and enjoy it! If you have free time and you want to explore these new tools, please do! We welcome any feedback you have. In fact, we will be spending the next month fine-tuning these tools and getting ready to formally share them with you and provide training on their use at OAC meetings and events this fall.

There are a variety of ways for you to provide feedback. Comment on this blog post. Share feedback with @OHAppCollab on Twitter. Or, start a discussion on the Collaboration Space. Do what works best for you!

We look forward to connecting and collaborating.
