It takes teamwork to make the dream work

OAC Connecting for Success

by | Jun 27, 2013
What do you get when you bring together more than 1,000 educators for three days in downtown Columbus? A lot of learning, a lot of sharing, and a lot of fun. After all, this is summer vacation.

From June 17-19, more than 200 OAC leaders and teachers joined educators from across Ohio at the Ohio Educators Connect for Success Conference. And the OAC wasn't there just to learn―OAC districts shared their expertise and lessons learned on a variety of topics ranging from team structures to human capital to PAR and FIP and community partnerships, just to name a few.

We are proud of the five OAC and Ohio TIF educators recognized at the Celebrate Teaching luncheon:

Kelly Browning, West Muskingum

Penny Hume-Cummings, Bellefontaine City (Ohio TIF district)

Molly Kaplet, Rolling Hills Local

Terry Robinson, Warren Local

Matthew Zumbro, Morgan Local

Even though the event was over in the blink of an eye, the impact of the conference will continue long after summer is over. Think about it―if every educator uses just one idea or lesson learned to enhance their practice this fall, thousands of students will benefit.

So, what was your biggest takeaway from the 2013 Connect for Success Conference?
