As educators, you and I use many tools. But with this Value-Added Portal, we are developing a new and powerful way to help us help you help our students.

In education, we’ve always looked at performance in terms of passing rates. That only determines what happens on the day a student takes a test. There’s no accounting for where a student begins – and how much he has grown under your direction.

Value-added data will allow us to discuss a student’s progress and give teachers the insight to how much influence their pedagogy is having. I realize time is your most precious commodity. But if you will, please take a few minutes to navigate this portal, and explore what value-added analysis is all about.

You will also hear about “linkage” – and how your participation will continue to transform our District and accelerate student achieve.
