On June 9, 2016, the HISD Board voted not to extend the contract with SAS EVAAS®, which means EVAAS for the 2015–2016 school year was not calculated. The 2015–2016 ASPIRE Award Model, which previously used EVAAS as an award indicator, has been amended and will use Comparative Growth on STAAR as a replacement indicator.
See the amended 2015–2016 ASPIRE Award model. Find more information on Comparative Growth. If you have any questions, please contact ASPIREaward@houstonisd.org.
HISD uses high-quality growth data to guide instructional
decision-making and provide
a more comprehensive
picture of student growth
over time. Find resources
to further understanding,
including reference materials and research publications.
The linkage and verification process provides an important opportunity for teachers and campus-based staff to review and confirm the data that is submitted to calculate their SAS/EVAAS® and Comparative Growth analyses. Learn more about ASPIRE and Apollo program timelines, and explore support resources for each program.
HISD offers incentive programs for campus-based employees that award on the basis of student growth and achievement. Learn more about program and eligibility requirements, award models, and timelines for the ASPIRE and Apollo incentive programs.
