ASPIRE Award Program

HISD is proud to recognize and celebrate the impact of our highly effective teachers and campuses in accelerating student progress and achievement. Through the 2008–2009 ASPIRE Award Program, HISD distributed $40.5 million across 15,704 campus-based staff members whose work led to increased student academic achievement and progress levels during the 2008–2009 school year. Click here to learn about 2008–2009 award highlights.

HISD launched this program in 2007 as a way to identify and reward teachers for success and as a tool for recruiting and retaining the best teachers. Since then, the district has awarded over $113 million in ASPIRE Awards making this performance-pay program one of the largest in the country.

The 2009–2010 ASPIRE Award Program materials are now available. These awards will be announced in January 2011.
