Learning Maps
HISD has developed two interactive-learning maps to help our staff members, parents, and community understand the ways in which education is changing and how the ASPIRE model will help us achieve our mission of preparing our students to be college- and career-ready. Each building principal has a set of these maps to use with staff members, parents, and community members.
LifeSpan: Preparing Children for the Journey of a Lifetime Edventures™ Map
This Map Experience provides proactive questions about how our world is changing and how these changes affect our school community. Participants will discuss how changes in our society and in the home, school, and workplace settings have affected our schools over the years. The issue of whether our children are prepared for the future is at the core of the dialogue. This Map will help HISD staff members and stakeholders to learn more about the value of an aligned system to ensure high levels of student achievement. The Map Experience requires one hour.
ASPIRE for the Future Edventures™ Map
This Map Experience allows participants to explore HISD's response to changing internal and external forces and how the ASPIRE model supports the district's overall purpose, strategic intent, values, and goals. Participants will discuss key measures to help guide the district's progress, and will have the opportunity to share ideas about how they can contribute to ASPIRE's success. This Map Experience requires 1.5-2 hours.
